OUR WORK

FEATURED

OPPORTUNITIES

Undertaking agriculture through a business lens with social entrepreneurship models founded on value-chain approach is pursued by Eco-Entrepreneurs [EcoE]. We provide our target market with access to current knowledge, technical information, marketing services, and information on funding opportunities for their own initiatives. We focus our service provision in the following areas:

Gender & Youth Childrens Park
Women and youth are a special category in our demographic structure » Exposure to touch and visual senses on natural objects and environment »
Agribusiness Value Chains with current focus on Soya Beans, Bananas, Cassava and Indegenous Vegetables

It has been proven that subsistence agriculture has limited capacity to elevate communities out of absolute poverty. Undertaking agriculture through a business lens through social entrepreneurship models founded on value-chain approach is pursued by the company. Through this program, famers gain access to current knowledge, technical information, marketing services and information on funding opportunities for their own initiatives. Farmers who are members of the partnership have additional benefits including financed participation in farmers’ exchange visits, business performance analysis and networks

Ecological Restoration

Globally, through the Bonn Challenge, the world is aspiring to restore 350 Million Ha of land by 2030.  Africa’s and Kenya’s targets are 100miilion and at least 5.1 million Ha respectively.  Our program promotes youth and women groups driven investment in landscape restoration including growing bamboo, indigenous trees and Vetiver grass with multiple benefits to their wellbeing.

Waste Management through Circular Economy

Heavy environmental pollution is rendering life impossible to live as even clean air is becoming scarce. Our program promotes resourse–efficiency and cleaner consumption and production as a means of minimising discharge of waste into the environment and poor quality air into the atmosphere.

Supporting budding Social Entrepreneurs in the Development of Environment Friendly and Climate Change Responsive Enterprises

Through this program, technologies and innovations that enable actions that mitigate against or support adaptation  to climate change are being promoted with particular support on SDG13 and associated other 11 SDGs especially those addressing poverty  eradication, gender equality ,health, water and quality clean energy.
Globally, subsequent to the Paris Agreement and the commitments countries have made through their respective Nationally Determined Contributions, fast-tracking action at all levels is the global call.

Resource Efficient Lifestyles, Products and Services

Scarcity of natural resources like water, energy, forests, food and biodiversity arising from negative impacts of climate change has necessitated focus on how best to minimize excessive use of these resources in industrial sector as well as at household level.  Through this program, we advocate and support applications of concepts like circular economy and green growth to infuse resources efficiency in consumption and production of products and services.

Gender and Youth Socio-economic Empowerment

Women and youth are a special category in our demographic structure with regards to ownership and access to productive resources.  Consequently, their resilience to negative impacts of climate change among other deterrents to their development including access to education is limited.
Through this program we implement capacity building activities tailored to youth and women.

[New] Re-Domestication of Disappearing Indigenous Plants

Climate change is aggravating slow-onset disappearance of indigenous annual and perennial plants as well as animals that have provided ethno-medicine and environment conservation services for centuries. This program will work with senior citizens in partnership with the youth to document the plants, source from the wild and raise them in a nursery to make them available to the public. The seedlings will be sold at cost-recovery price to promote uptake by community members.

[New] Children’s Environmental Learning and Play Park

Exposure to touch and visual senses on natural objects and the environment enables early development and appreciation of nature later in life.  This program steered by commitment to value-based learning will introduce young children in the age groups of 1 year to 12 years to key aspects of environment resources and how their management contributes to quality life.

Supporting transition from Wood Fuel to Clean Cooking for Climate Impact and Improved Wellbeing

Enabling households to change from using woodfuel (Firewood and Charcoal) to cleaner cooking technologies to avert indoor air pollution with human health improvement, forest conservation and climate change mitigation is a core focus area.  With US$130 funding, households are supported to invest in LPG gas and fireless cooker.  This saves women at least three hours/day thereby enabling them to engage in other economically production activities.
